Brown Mediation

Mediation Approach

While there are many valid theories about and approaches to mediation, Barbara Brown believes that in the litigated case the mediator must be able to make an analytical evaluation of the facts and the law as well as work with the emotional components of the case.  Ms. Brown is able to do both.  She has the substantive expertise from her 28 years of litigation experience to credibly and persuasively evaluate each side's position.  She also believes, however, that all parties deserve to be heard and understood; and she has the life experience, training, and insight to identify and work with emotional factors that may be getting in the way of resolution.

Ms. Brown believes that the parties themselves usually hold the key to resolution of their dispute; and she fosters their active participation, with the assistance of their counsel, in the mediation process.
